Media Bias in Harris County

New Report: "The Real 'Bond Pandemic'"

In November 2021, TCJE released a groundbreaking report analyzing media coverage of misdemeanor bond reform and the criminal legal system in Harris County (Houston). Our team evaluated coverage from four English-language and two Spanish-language television stations to identify bias, false narratives, and misinformation. The report is available both as a PDF and an interactive webpage where you can flip through stats for media outlets and most quoted officials and read articles with annotations from the report's authors.
