Provides community mental health services. Use the main phone number to contact an office for an appointment or to ask for more information about eligibility and programs. The 24-hour toll free Crisis Hotline is 1-800-841-1255. This crisis number is for people facing an emergency situation, such as having a homicidal or suicidal thoughts. If your call is an emergency, a crisis team may be sent out to help manage your situation. If necessary, emergency services may also be contacted to respond to your crisis.Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Caldwell County Indigent Health Care Program

This program provides basic medical services to residents of this hospital district who cannot receive health care coverage from any other source and who are eligible for the program. Eligibility is based on income and resources.

Primary Health Care provides health care services for men and women whose family income is 25% to 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. Services include medical visits, limited prescriptions, limited dental, health screening, monitoring of blood pressure and blood sugar, health risk profile, preventive health education, and other referral services.

They offer College Prep classes as well as sponsorship for your higher education. Similar to a traditional scholarship program, Capital IDEA offers financial support to adults pursuing higher education. The College Prep Academy is a partnership with Austin Community College. College Prep is only offered to Capital IDEA participants. The goal of College Prep is to bring participants up to a college level as quickly as possible, so that they can begin working towards a degree or certificate.

Call or go online to find local emergency food assistance. Agency that provide food assistance include food pantries, soup kitchens and snack programs for individuals and families in need. They can help you fill your shelves with pantry staples and your refrigerator with meats, dairy and fresh produce. Some agencies provide hot meals on site and much more. At some agencies, proof of residence is required to access services.

The SNAP food benefits (formerly known as Food Stamps) helps people with low incomes and resources buy the food they need for good health. Medicaid Programs provide medical benefits for eligible low income adults, children, and families. CHIP offers a health insurance program for children. Call or visit website for program-specific eligibility information. Anyone convicted of a drug-related felony (possession, use or distribution of a controlled substance) after August 22, 1996, is not eligible for SNAP (Food Stamps) benefits.Hours: M-F, 8 am to 5 pm.

Hays Caldwell Council provides substance abuse screenings and assessments, treatment referrals, information and educational services, an adult intensive outpatient treatment program, and other related services.
