Cameron County Indigent Health Care Program

This program provides basic medical services to residents of this county who cannot receive health care coverage from any other source and who are eligible for the program. Eligibility is based on income and resources. Cameron County contracted with Valley Baptist Medical Center in August of 2007 to provide Indigent Health Care Services for the Cameron County residents that are under the 21% federal poverty level.

This program assists people in locating the resources needed to attend college in an in-demand occupation. In addition to providing the necessary financial assistance needed, VIDA is also committed to providing case management and career counseling. VIDA's process for entry into the program is extensive and requires commitment. Programs offered include auto body repair, construction, welding, plumbing and many other in-demand occupations. Individuals convicted of a felony are considered for the program on a case by case basis.
