Provides community mental health services. Use the main phone number to contact an office for an appointment or to ask for more information about eligibility and programs. The toll free Crisis Hotline is 1-800-841-6467. This crisis number is for people facing an emergency situation, such as having a homicidal or suicidal thoughts. If your call is an emergency, a crisis team may be sent out to help manage your situation. If necessary, emergency services may also be contacted to respond to your crisis.

This program provides basic medical services to residents of this county who cannot receive health care coverage from any other source and who are eligible for the program. Eligibility is based on income and resources.

Classes are offered in basic skills, GED preparation and English Language Learning for non-native speakers. Instruction is provided through classes or Distance Learning (Internet based). A registration process must be completed before receiving services. There is sometimes a waiting list. Classes are free of charge. Referrals from the TX Workforce receive priority status. Classes are offered at the following locations: Beeville, Taft, Sinton, Mathis, FlourBluf, Pleasanton and Ingleside.

The Veteran Services Officer acts as an advocate and assists veterans and/or their survivors obtain entitled benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the State of Texas.

Food Bank of Corpus Christi

The Food Bank of Corpus Christi distributes food in bulk to nonprofit organizations or churches that have a purpose or mission statement related to the care and feeding of the ill, needy, or minor children. The Food Bank has Food Pantries in or serving every zip code in Corpus Christi and has representation in most of the 11 rural counties that they serve.Clients may call the Food Bank, give their zip code and they will refer them to the agency that is most convenient to their home. Clients must fall under the maximum income guidelines as designated by the USDA. The guidelines for income are based on family size, it is the responsibility of the pantries to determine if a client meets that criteria. The client must provide proof of residence in the area in which they live and a picture ID. Generally these pantries are emergency pantries which serve the clients at least 4 times per year.

Rockport-Fulton Good Samaritans, Inc. provides a variety of services to residents of Aransas County. To receive services, clients should come to the center with a photo identification card and social security cards for each member of the family, sign in with the receptionist at the front desk and then meet with an interviewer. Assistance is intended to address emergency needs such as food, clothing, rent and medical needs. Hours: 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., Monday-Friday.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a not for profit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. They are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. The desire to stop using is the only requirement for membership. The meetings are free and anyone may join. Meetings are held in the cities of Victoria, Beeville, Alice, Rockport, Aransas Pass, Portland, Orange Grove, Kingsville, Ingleside, Port Lavaca, San Diego, Robstown and Corpus Christi.
