Services offered can include testing, some same-day results, an exam and treatment. The fee is $20. The STD clinic offers confidential testing for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis, HIV, Herpes with symptoms, Trichomonas, Chancroid with symptoms and Yeast Infections.Medication is offered on-site to treat clients for their infections. Preventable treatment is also provided for clients exposed to STDs. The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Dallas County Health and Human Services offers vaccinations to adults for routine immunization and foreign travel. The clinic, which is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, is located in Room 141, on the first floor of the DCHHS building.Appointments are not required.DCHHS charges a $25 administrative fee per patient for their first time visit, plus the cost of the needed vaccines. Payment of the administrative fee is made once a year.A $5 fee is assessed for the replacement of missing shot records. International travel cards cost $5.

AVANCE primarily serves pregnant Latina women and Latino families with children from birth to age three. They offer a nine-month Parent-Child Education Program of bilingual weekly three-hour classes that teach parents about child development and work with the children on language development, learning of basic concepts and skills, and social competence. They also offer English as a Second Language classes to parents who complete the Parent-Child Education Program and some locations offer a class that teaches fathers about their importance in their child's development. AVANCE-Dallas delivers educational programs at 44 locations in Dallas County across three school districts.

The Dallas Public Library system offers GED preparation classes for students who meet the age requirements. Registration is required. Students must show a government-issued ID that contains a photo and date of birth confirmation to register. Branches that offer the GED courses include Martin Luther King Jr., Highland Hills, Polk-Wisdom, Pleasant Grove, North Oak Cliff and Forest Green.

Hope Coalition Continued Education

The classes meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1pm until 3pm. Also the classes are free of charge and enrollment is open to any adult desiring to be tutored in preparation for taking the GED test.They also offer adult literacy classes.

Texas Offenders Reentry Initiative (TORI)- Dallas TORI Metroplex Economic Development Corporation

TORI is a non-profit, faith-based organization with a mission to guide and empower previously incarcerated individuals in maximizing their potential, increase opportunity, and promote a successful reintegration back to society. The TORI program focuses on individuals who are either on probation or parole, and who may be experiencing hopelessness, lack of support, unemployment, or substance abuse issues that might hinder them from succeeding. Please note that the TORI program cannot assist individuals with a conviction for any sexual offense. TORI has five locations in major cities throughout TX. Victory Outreach

Victory Outreach provides a faith-based transitional housing program for men and women free of charge. Individuals with sex offenses and those with violent offenses against children are not accepted; individuals on electronic monitors are accepted after an evaluation. There is a one-year minimum stay, and during the first two weeks residents are required to participate in Church-only activities. Residents are expected to work in the Christian recovery home.

Welcome House

Welcome House provides transitional housing and a drug and alcohol recovery program for men. Individuals with sex offenses are not accepted, but those with violent offenses and individuals on electronic monitors are permitted. An average stay is six months to one year. Rent is $135 per week (which includes meals), and a $150 deposit is required. Residential short-term treatment (30 days or less) is also offered.

Union Gospel Mission

Provides overnight shelter, food, for up to 200 men. Clothing issued daily. Computer Training, employment assistance and skills training available. Rehabilitation programs for those addicted to alcohol and drugs. Hours: 7 days 24 hours.

Salvation Army Dallas Shelter and Services

The Stewpot offers a safe haven for homeless and at-risk individuals of Dallas, providing resources for basic survival needs as well as opportunities to start a new life. Creative and social activities include art classes, community concerts, and talent shows.

Veteran's Resource Center

They offer care for homeless Veterans, providing day resources and transitional housing. This includes assistance connecting to non-profit employment, educational and VA resources. Welcome House

Welcome House provides transitional housing services for men and women who are HIV positive. Individuals with sex offenses and violent offenses are accepted, but those on electronic monitors are not currently permitted. A maximum stay is six months but extensions can be requested. Services are provided free of charge.

The RACE program is a one-year residential program for men with life-controlling problems, such as alcohol and substance abuse; also, those who have behavioral dysfunctions or a criminal history. The RACE program is a program of discipleship, including a faith-based, 12-step program.During the first ninety days of the program, up to 30 men live on a 22-acre farm in Wills Point, TX, where they are taught the foundational principles needed for a successful life, while dealing with their addictive behavior. After the ninety days the men are brought to live at the St. Augustine Ministry Center in Dallas. Here, they continue to work through the 12-step program, as well as begin to learn the value of service. There is no cost for the program.
