Provides community mental health services. Use the main phone number to contact an office for an appointment or to ask for more information about eligibility and programs. The toll free Crisis Hotline is (800)-888-4036. The crisis number is for people facing an emergency situation, such as having a homicidal or suicidal thoughts. If your call is an emergency, a crisis team may be sent out to help manage your situation. If necessary, emergency services may also be contacted to respond to your crisis.

Classes offered: GED Preparation, English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) and Citizenship Test Preparation. All CTC adult education classes and services are offered free of charge. They do not charge tuition or fees, and all necessary materials are provided for you. GED and ESL classes are currently offered at the following locations: Fort Hood Killeen CTC Central CampusHarker HeightsCopperas CoveLampasasGatesvilleSan SabaHamiltonClass time offerings vary to fit your needs. Most classes meet for three hours per session, two days per week. There are morning, afternoon, and evening classes. They also offer online courses to supplement in-class work. The Adult Education Department also offers transition services. They have an advisor on staff to help you make your next steps, whatever they may be. At any time during your participation in the adult education program, you can take advantage of this free service by making an appointment with the transition coordinator to discuss your future plans. The coordinator also teaches free workshops on Goal Setting, Transitioning to College, and Transitioning to the Workforce.

Tarrant Area Food Bank is the distribution hub of a 13-county network of hunger-relief charities and social services centers. To find emergency food assistance, go to their website or call 2-1-1. Their SNAP/Food Stamp Outreach staff are available to visit their partner agencies and other community sites to ensure that anyone who is eligible for government benefits is aware and has the opportunity to apply.

The SNAP food benefits (formerly known as Food Stamps) helps people with low incomes and resources buy the food they need for good health. Medicaid Programs provide medical benefits for eligible low income adults, children, and families. CHIP offers a health insurance program for children. Anyone convicted of a drug-related felony (possession, use or distribution of a controlled substance) after August 22, 1996, is not eligible for SNAP (Food Stamps) benefits.Hours: M-F, 8 am to 5 pm.
